Guttenberg, Iowa, Feb. 8, 1886.

Again has the all devouring and never satisfied phenomenon, death, announced his appearance among us by the singling out of his victim; Henry William Zimmerman, son of Prof. J. H. Zimmerman, of this place, died last Tuesday morning after two days illness, of pneumonia. The deceased was (16 or 18) years, 4 months and 5 days old. Not withstanding all that parental care and medical skill could do, the youth dropped off just at that age when life and its pleasures are doubly dear, and when the pleasing incidents of many years had endeared him to his parents and friends by ties which the grave can never sever. The bereaved must console themselves in their sorrow with the knowledge that infinite wisdom is joined with infinite goodness, and that which we often imagine to be our greatest loss would be seen to be but a blessing if the human mind were able to comprehend the infinite. The sorrow stricken family have the warmest sympathy of our people in their bereavement.
