Elkader Register, Thur., 14 Jan. 1886. National column.

The people of National were last Monday called upon to pay their last sad tribute of respect to one of the veteran citizens of this place, Mr. Hudson, who died very suddenly at his home on Monday last. The cause of his death is mysterious and unknown. He appeared in usual health and spirits until within twenty minutes of his death. He leaves an aged widow, and grandchild, besides a married son and family to mourn his loss.

Mr. Washington Hudson died at his home on the 4th inst. at the good old age of 78 years; he leaves an aged widow and six children to mourn his loss. May he rest in peace.
