MONONA: Mrs. Elizabeth Eiffert, aged 93, died Friday night at the Eiffert home in Monona, having been sick a day. Her death was due to old age.

Elizabeth Hoch was born July 21, 1838, in Hessian Darmstat, Germany, and at the age of eighteen sailed for the United States, locating in the neighborhood of Monona. A year later she was married to Hancur_n Eiffert and they settled on a farm two and one-half miles southeast of Monona. They were the parents of two sons, Henry, who cared for her, and Emil, who, with her husband, has been dead for many years. Grandma Eiffert has resided in Monona a number of years. She bore the distinction of being the second oldest woman in Monona.

Surviving her, besides her son, Henry Eiffert, are three grandchildren, Miss Esther Eiffert, a teacher at Muskegan, Mich.; Miss Blanche Eiffert of Monona; and Roy Eiffert, of Froelich; also one great-grandchild, Delores Maxine Eiffert, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Eiffert.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the Henry Eiffert home to the Pilgrim Evangelical church at 1:30, Rev. Earl W. Reichert officiating, with burial in the Giard cemetery.
