CLAYTON: George Pesch, son of Mrs. Isabelle Pesch, was born in Clayton, July 24th, 1862, and lived here the greater share of his younger years. For about 25 years he worked on the Milwaukee railroad, and afterwards went to Du Pree, S.D., where he had a homestead, and later was at Texas where he was interested in the oil fields. After his mother died he returned home and stayed the remaining years with his sister Mary. George was only sick a few weeks but a heart attack was fatal at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning. He died peacefully.
He leaves to mourn his departure his half-sister, Mary Crefeld, and a number of nieces and nephews; three brothers, Henry, Willie and Chris Pesch, and a half-brother, Chas. Crefeld, preceded him in death. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the home, Rev. G. J. Zeilinger officiating. Burial was in Clayton cemetery.
