Clayton County Register, Thur., 22 Oct. 1931.

GUTTENBERG: Gerhard Nieland died at his farm home several miles west of Guttenberg Saturday a.m. Mr. Nieland was an aged man and had been ailing for a few years. He has been making his home with his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Gregor Nieland. He was never married and has always lived near Guttenberg. The funeral was held from St. Mary's church on Tuesday a.m. at nine o'clock. The Rev. J. Dupont officiated at the church and the grave. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
