Clayton County Register, Thur., 06 Aug. 1931.
Frederich E. H. Beyer died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Lembke, at Giard, Thursday, July 30, 1931, at the age of 72 years, two months and 14 days.
Frederich Ernst Heinrich Beyer was born May 16, 1859, in Wittingen, Hanover, Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in the homeland and in 1877, in company with his father and brother August, he immigrated to America, settling first in Clayton Center.
January 10, 1884, he was married to Minnie Landon and to this union eight children were born. Three of these, Karl, Fritz and Elmer, preceded their father in death. In 1901 the departed left Clayton Center and moved to a farm near that point where he lived for 30 years.
In the spring of this year his health began to fail and for that reason convinced him that it would not be good for him and his wife to remain alone on the farm. They moved to the home of their daughter, Mrs. John Lembke, Giard, where everything was done to help him. It was there in Giard that two of his brothers preceded him in death. Though he had failed in health, he was without pain during the entire time of his illness.
Those mourning his passing besides his widow, Mrs. Minnie Beyer, are his three daughters, Mrs. John Lembke, Giard; Mrs. Wilhelm Thurn, Edgewood; Mrs. Ernest Thurn, Edgewood; two sons, Otto Beyer, Clayton Center, and the Rev. Hugo Beyer, Kimball, S.D.; also seven grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
