Thirty-two years ago he came with his parents and their family to the farm near Strawberry Point where his home was at the time of his death. He secured his education in the country school. After his father's death in 1908 he was a faithful son to his mother, practically taking his father's place in the home and on the farm during ten years, till his marriage.

Mr. Waring was married to Katherine Jane Homewood Feb. 12, 1918, to which happy union three children were born. Paul died at the age of five years and four months. They spent the first three years of married life on the Wm. Haufle farm in Strawberry Point, after which they moved to the Waring farm, where they have lived to the present time. He was baptized in infancy in the Lutheran church, later joining the Congregational church, from which his membership was transferred to the Methodist church Dec. 28, 1924, in which he was a faithful member at the time of his death. In his last illness he wished the ministry of his pastor and professed his faith.

He was the fourth of a family of ten children, one sister, Mrs. Mary Alderson passed away in 1910.

Mr. Waring was a kindly and loving husband and father in the home and the best words cannot tell the inexpressible loss to the family. He was a good farmer, a good neighbor and friend and will be missed in the community.
