Clayton County Register, Thur., 14 May 1931.

MONONA: Eugene J. Pierson, 35, salesman for the John Deere Plow company, died early Saturday evening of blood poisoning and complications, at his home here. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. E. J. Pierson, two daughters, Althea and Marjorie, and an infant son, Robert Eugene Pierson. The Pierson family have made many friends since living in Monona and the entire community sympathizes with the family. Short funeral services were held from the home at one o'clock Sunday afternoon and the remains taken to their former home in Illinois.
