Clayton County Register, Thur., 02 Apr. 1931.

Mrs. John Little, nee Lucinda Engler, was born June 30, 1848, in Luzerne county, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, and departed from this life on March 21, 1931, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 21 days.

At the age of 9 years Mrs. Little came to Clayton county with her parents. The family resided on a farm near Monona and afterwards moved to Monona. On September 28, 1867, she was united in marriage with J. M. Little, at Clermont, Ia. They made their home on a farm near Farmersburg, where she has lived for the past 65 years. Four children were born to this union, Mrs. Mina Dahlstrom, Mrs. H. A. Oelke, and Mrs. Ed. Johnson all of Farmersburg, and Samuel Little who passed away August 19, 1928. She also leaves eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Sarah McAndrew of Aurelia, Iowa, and one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Odelia Little and several nieces and nephews. Until infirmities of age, she attended Sunday School and church regularly. Mrs. Little was always ready to help and give her support to their cause. Those who have only known Mrs. Little in recent years when her vigorous faculties had become impaired by disease and the failities incident to old age do not know the real woman. She was of a friendly and social disposition.
