The remains of F. M. Whitely, who died suddenly Monday evening in Chicago, were brought here to Elkader and taken to the home of his brother-in-law, Ed. Leonard, yesterday.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon in the Congregational church, beginning at two o'clock, with the Rev. C. T. Brewster officiating.

Frederick M. Whitley died suddenly Monday evening, January 12, 1931, at his home in North Chicago. He was born September 30, 1873, in Fayette, Iowa, the son of Frederick M. and Matilda Whitley. He was married on February 21, 1911, to Alice Leonard of Elkader. He lived in Elkader until six years ago, when he and his wife moved to North Chicago. For the past three years he has been employed by the Northshore Railroad. He was a member of the Woodman lodge. He is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs. Marion Dennis, of Fayette, and two brothers, Chas. and Richard Whitley of Fayette.
Funeral services were conducted in Elkader on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 15, by Rev. C. T. Brewster, pastor of the Congregational church, at the Ed. Leonard home at 1:30 and at the Congregational church at 2 o'clock. Burial took place in the Eastside cemetery.
