Mrs. Even O. Glesne died at her home Monday, May 12th, 1930 as a result of cancer, with which she had been failing since September 1929. Her maiden name was Betty Peterson and she was born Apr. 11, 1863 in Wagner township. Her parents were Torkel and Gunild Peterson. March 17, 1886 she was united in marriage to Even O. Glesne and to this union five children were born: Elvina, died in infancy; Ava, now Mrs. Theodore Thoreson; Elvira, at home; Bennie and Oscar, all living near St. Olaf. One brother, Knute Peterson, of Buxton, N.D. and two sisters, Mrs. Gunild Stenson, St. Paul and Mrs. Carrie Evenson of Madison, Wis., also survive. She leaves also, four grandchildren, Evelyn and Burton Thoreson, Lee and John Glesne. Two sisters, Mrs. Belle Tollefson of Verdon, S.D., and Mrs. Anna Severson, of Randalia, and one brother, P. T. Peterson of St. Olaf, have preceded her in death. She also leaves thirty nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 15 at the Norway church, the Rev. J. S. Strandjord and the Rev. O. Glesne of Decorah, officiating.

Mrs. Glesne was a very kind woman and always willing to help in time of need. She will be missed by relatives and friends. May she rest in peace and her memory never be forgotten.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Knute Peterson, Buxton, N.D., Mrs. Albert Thompson and daughter, of Fairbault, Minn., Mrs. Ole Severson, Mr. and Mrs. Thorwald Thoreson, Mrs. A. O. Haavig, all of Forest City, Iowa, Rev. and Mrs. N. Arveson of Decorah.
