Elkader Register, Thur., 17 Apr. 1930. Elkport column.

Mr. Christoph Beeh, son of Phillip and Barbara Beeh, nee Wentz, was born Oct. 01, 1856, in Solingen Baden, Germany. In the year 1859 (rest of newspaper line missing) coming directly to Clayton County, Iowa, and locating and living in the same county all his life. They settled in Volga township. In the year 1885 he was united in holy wedlock to Miss Paulina Wille, and to this union four children were born, Henry of Elkport, Iowa, Philip on the home place at Elkport, Mrs. Reka Schuldt of Littleport, Mrs. Mabel Rentschler of Garber.

Mr. Beeh lived on the old homestead all his life until the year 1920 when he retired; moving to Elkport where he bought a home that he might, with his wife, spend their remaining days.

During his time, living in Elkport he has won many friends, and was well known throughout this territory. Mr. Beeh was an ambitious worker continually working, and performing deeds of kindness, he was an expert at weaving baskets, at which work he was busy when stricken at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 07, 1930, never rallying, and at 9:30 that same evening his soul was carried by angels to his heavenly home.

Mr. Beeh leaves to mourn his sudden departure his widow, two sons, Henry, Philip, two daughters, Mrs. Reka Schuldt, Mrs. Mable Rentschler, five sisters and four grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who sorely mourn his departure. Mr. Beeh reached the age of 73 years, 6 months and 6 days.

Mr. Beeh was a baptized, confirmed communicant member of Elkport Lutheran church. Peace be to his ashes.
