We are called upon to add the passing of another resident in our vicinity. Mrs. Fred Thorpe, passed away at her home Saturday morning, at three o'clock, after a years suffering with cancer. Mrs. Thorpe was born near Lancaster, Wis., Oct. 25, 1883, being 47 years, five months and 12 days, and was married to Fred Thorpe at British Hollow, Wis., July 4th, 1900, and died Feb. 22, 1930. She leaves to mourn her husband and seven children, Fred, Los Angeles, Cal., Loretta, Prairie du Chien, Clara, St. Paul, Minn., Grace, Hazel, Bernice and Luverne at home and also two sisters and four brothers and other relatives. Two children and two sisters preceded her in death. She was a Catholic and in her last hours was comforted by the rites of that religion. The funeral was held Monday morning at Garnavillo in the Catholic church. Burial was made in Clayton cemetery.
