George Linder passed away at his home Thursday morning, Jan. 9. Mr. Linder had been troubled with heart disease for several years. His passing was unexpected as he had been in his usual health. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community. Mr. Linder was an honest, upright man and will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Methodist church with Rev. Chamberlain in charge. Interment was made in Hill Crest cemetery.

George Theodore Linder, son of William and Deborah Linder, was born Feb. 18, 1861 near Clayton, Iowa, and departed this life on Thursday, January 9, 1930, at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 12 days.
On Feb. 15, 1888, he was united in marriage to Matilda Younkman at National, Iowa, where they resided for a few years, and then moved to a farm near Volga, where he has made his home ever since. To this union were born three children, one son and two daughters, Mrs. Dola Pohlkamp, of Strawberry Point, and Lawrence, of Volga. One daughter, Ada, died in infancy. Mr. Linder's wife also preceded him in death a few years ago. Surviving him, besides the son and daughter, are three sisters, Mrs. Grace Grey, of Boise, Idaho, Mrs. S. Hudson, of Burt, Iowa, and Mrs. Will Farnham, of Albert Lea, Minn., also three brothers.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11, at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church. Rev. A. B. Chamberlain officiated. Interment was made in Hill Crest cemetery.
