Elkader Register, Thur., 09 Dec. 1920.

Albert Lenth was born August 22, 1870 in Farmersburg township as the son of Carl Lenth and his wife Dortheae nee Shmalfeldt. He was baptized and confirmed by the Rev. S. W. Seifert at Clayton Centre. He was married to Miss Anna Wilke, who died in 1893. In 1895, October 21, he was again married to his surviving widow Miss Louisa Gottschalk. This union was blessed with 10 children, 9 of which are alive, namely: Mabel, Mrs. Arthur Glawe, Wesley, Herold, Leona, Leroy, Lucy, Irene, Alvea and Rosina, one son Milton died in 1917. He spent most of his life in Farmersburg township where he built about four years ago a very nice comfortable homestead. Albert Lenth always seemed one of the healthiest persons one could meet and was seldom sick. Last Tuesday morning he complained of a certain fullness in his chest combined with a slight pain; after a short rest it got better, after supper he had the same experience. He was sitting in the dinningroom amongst his loved ones reading the daily paper to them, when all at once he seemed to loose track of the lines, he stooped forward and without uttering a sound or looking up once he passed the great threshold between time and eternity.

Albert was one of those fellows one don't meet very often. True and honest, ready to help any time, a devoted Christian, a loving father and excellent husband. His place can never be filled. His age being 50 years, 3 months and 8 days. He leaves beside of his wife and children, his mother, Mrs. Dora Lenth, his father-in-law, his brother and wife Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lenth, his sisters with their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. John Palas, Mrs. J. Reynolds, Mr. and Mrs. F. Schulz, Mr. and Mrs. L. Palas, Mr. and Mrs. W. Fuhrmann. The brother and sister-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lenth, Mr. and Mrs. John Gottschalk, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gottschalk, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Seeland. He was laid to rest at Clayton Centre Friday Dec. 3rd, the Revs. Dr. Braun of Farmersburg and Gerald Weisse of Clayton Centre officiating.
