Elkader Register, Thur., 13 May 1920. Strawberry Point column.
The death of Mrs. Carrie Rawson, aged 81 years, occurred at her home last Thursday after a lingering illness but she was only for a short time confined to her bed. Miss Carrie Browmnell [sic] was married to Dr. Clark Rawson, in 1858, and she has made this place her home. Her husband passed away July 28, 1901. One son Dr. Edward Rawson, of this place, is left to mourn the loss of a kind mother. Mrs. Rawson was a member of the Baptist church and was an earnest worker in the W.C.T.U. which meetings she loved to attend whenever her heath permitted her. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Tarbox. Interment took place in the beautiful cemetery. A good woman has gone but her good deeds and kind acts will always be remembered by those who knew her best.
