The funeral services of J. E. Stalnaker occurred at his home Monday afternoon and was largely attended. Rev. True, of Edgewood, a friend of the family, conducted the services. Mr. Stalnaker had been ailing for over a year but was given the best of care until death relieved him of his sufferings Saturday morning, April 1st. He was 67 years old and commenced teaching when he was 19 years of age and has taught ever since until a short time ago when he was compelled to quit on account of his ill health. For over twenty years he taught school in his home district. He was one of Clayton County's best teachers. Mr. Stalnaker was an honest man in his dealings and a friend to everybody. He leaves to mourn his death his wife; two sons and one daughter, Earl of this place, and Dr. Frank Stalnaker of Edgewood, and Mrs. Ella Sauerbry of this place. Interment took place in our beautiful cemetery.
