Miss Amalie Suttkus was born March 13th in Lappienen east Prussia, Germany and was united to Julius Christeleid Aug. 1st, 1890. She arrived in the United States on the 24th day of May 1894, with two children, Charles and Fritz. Eight children were born to this union. Four are living at home, namely: Fritz, William, Annie and Julius. Four having preceded their mother in death. Her age at the time (of) her death was 53 years and 9 days. Mrs. Christeleid passed away at her home east of Volga Sunday March 21, 1920. Mr. and Mrs. Christeleid lived at Clayton Center before buying their farm east of town. Mrs. Christeleid was of a very quiet disposition, tender hearted and kind. She made many friends while she lived in our midst who will miss her. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in this their sad affliction. Short funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning, Rev. G. L. Heiserman officiating. The remains were taken to Clayton Center where the Lutheran minister had charge. The floral offerings were beautiful.
