Ida Adelaide Goldsborough was born near Apple River, Ill., Dec. 26, 1858, and departed this life at her home in Strawberry Point Feb. 19, 1920 aged 62 years, 1 month and 24 days. She was united in marriage to Thomas H. Laity, March 19, 1878, at Apple River, Ill. To this union three children were born, Mrs. R. G. Alderson, of this place, Bert Laity, of Cannisota, S. Dak., and George who died at the home of his parents two years ago Feb. 19, 1918. There are left to mourn her loss a devoted husband, two children, five grandchildren, an aged father Wm. Goldsborough both of Dundee, two sisters, Mrs. D. E. VanEvery and Mrs. Will Jewell both of Champin besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Mrs. Laity was a kind indulgent mother, a true friend and neighbor. It is a comfort to those she leaves to know that she will surely meet Him who doeth all things well. Funeral services occurred at the home Monday forenoon conducted by the M.E. pastor Rev. W. H. Smith. Interment took place in the local cemetery.
