Mrs. Wilhelmina Lund was born on February 10th, 1849, at Benton, Germany. In her youth at the age of 8 years she came with her parents to the United States, coming to Iowa in 1857. Her parents settling on a farm on Bear Creek.
Deceased was united in marriage in 1870 to Mr. Henry Lund and to this union were born eleven children, three sons and eight daughters of which three preceded her in death. Her husband, Mr. Henry Lund died in the year 1910 and deceased moved to Elkport to rest and retire from active life. She had been ailing from heart trouble for some time, however, she was not bed ridden and on Christmas eve she retired as well as usual and the end came early Christmas morning.
She leaves to mourn her death one brother Fred Schulz, of St. Paul, Minn., and the following children: Henry Lund, of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. M. C. Costig, in Owatona, Minn.; August Lund, of Elkport; Mrs. Henry Beuschneider, of Guttenberg; Mrs. Fred Von, of Elkport; Mrs. Jos Von, of Garber; Mrs. Fred Walke, of Guttenberg; Mrs. Wm. Steen of Littleport.
The funeral was held Sunday at the German Lutheran Church and was largely attended. Rev. Stolz officiated.
