Tujetsch, John 1834 - 1915

John Tujetsch was born in Canton Graubunden, Fellers, Switzerland, in 1834 and came to America at the age of twenty-six and spent the remainder of his life in Elkader and vicinity with relatives, with the exception of one visit he made to Switzerland about thirty-eight years ago and the last few years he has spent in Dubuque, where he passed away on Friday morning. He leaves to mourn his death two brothers and one sister, twenty-one nieces and nephews and other relatives.

His remains were brought to Elkader on Friday evening and the funeral was held at St. Joseph's church Saturday morning, interment at St. Joseph's cemetery. May his soul rest in peace.

(Note: A card of thanks notes the deceased as "our brother and uncle" and was signed by Thos. Tujetsch and family.)
