Register and Argus, 05 Aug. 1915. Volga column.
Andrew Best, aged 12 years, was drowned in Pine Creek, just east of town, Saturday afternoon. He had gone swimming with his brothers and got into a deep place where the recent heavy rains had washed in the sandy bottom of the creek. Being unable to swim he sank and was only recovered when his small brother attracted Mrs. Chriesleit from the road. Doctors were summoned but were unable to resuscitate him after so long a time had elapsed. He was taken to Garber for burial Monday, after a short service here by Rev. Walte P____ of the M.E. Church.
