Register and Argus, 27 May 1915.
Miss Anna Donahoe died Tuesday night at her home in this city at the close of a long illness.
Deceased was born on the old farm in Read township, June 9th, 1872, and was therefore nearly forty-three years of age. She came to Elkader with her sister Bridget and brother James about seven years ago, where they have since resided, and who, with her brother Thomas and sister, Mrs. John Melary, of Highland township, mourn the loss of a loving sister. During her long illness she was given the most tender care by loved ones, yet in spite of this and medical skill, death was inevitable. Miss Donahoe was a lady on many womanly virtues and her untimely departure is mourned not only by her kindred but by many friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at St. Joseph's church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. F. Reilly, and interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery. - Democrat.
