Our community was greatly shocked and grieved on Friday morning to hear of the death of Mrs. Wm. Costigan, which occurred at her home north of town. Mrs. Costigan was of a kind and lovable disposition, which won for her many friends. About six weeks ago she became ill and was taken to the Mercy Hospital at Dubuque. All that loving hands could do and medical knowledge could suggest was done for her to ward off death, but all to no avail. Mrs. Costigan was 48 years old and is survived by her husband, Wm. Costigan, six children, John, George, Warren, Maggie, Anna and Cora, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie O'Connor and Mrs. Ella Piper, both of Battle Creek; four brothers, Chas. Beddow, of Armour, S.D., John Beddow, of Ruthven, Geo. and Frank Beddow, of Pendleton, Oregon, besides many other relatives, all of whom have our heartfelt sympathy. The funeral was held Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Rev. D. T. Minogue officiating. Interment in Mt. Harmony cemetery. May she rest in peace.
