Register and Argus, 18 Feb. 1915. Clayton column.
Died at her sister's home in Chicago, Sunday evening at 8:30, Jan. 31, 1915, Miss Margaret Smasal. Her sickness was of a brief duration, only lasting a few days, and in Margaret's death it casts a gloom over the whole community. One of her strong characteristics was in trying to please others, especially her mother and sister and family, and she never complained, although she has been ailing more or less for the last three or four years, when asked how she felt she would always have a cheerful answer, as she never wanted to burden others with her troubles. Anything that can be said of a good and dutiful daughter can be applied in perfect safety.
She was born Sept. 6, 1867, and died Jan. 31st, 1915, therefore being 47 years, 4 months and 25 days of age. Her father died March 1st, 1902, and an only brother, Leonard, died September 23, 1906. Those who are left to mourn her loss is her grief-stricken mother and only sister, Mrs. Lippert, of Chicago, and many relatives and friends.
