Royce, Sarah died 1859

ROYCE, ROYSE, BLASDALE, DEVEL

DIED - At McGregor, on the evening of Monday Oct. 17th, of a lingering illness, Mrs. Royce, aged about 55 years. Mrs. R. leaves several children and numerous friends to mourn their loss.

Note: Enumerated on the 1856 Iowa State Census, Mendon twp., Clayton Co.
Sarah Royse, age 47, b. KY, in the state: 17y
also in household are Amond Royse (16y), Willia Royse (14y), Hiram Royse (11y), Noah Royse (9y), John Blasdale (8y) and Silas Devel (47y, carpenter)

Her husband was likely Solomon Royce/Royse, who died a year or two prior. Burial place of the couple is unknown.
