Clayton County Register, 18 Nov. 1885.

DIED - The sad intelligence of the death of Benjamine Sackett, of Garnavillo, reached us yesterday. His death occurred Monday at the ripe age of 86 years. He is the last of his family, his wife having preceded him to that land of rest by but two weeks, and the six children, the result of their happy union are all likewise dead. Mr. Sackett was born in Connecticut in 1799 and came to Clayton county in 1855. He settled in Garnavillo, where he resided until his death. The funeral was held Tuesday and was largely attended.
