Elkader Register, 13 Aug. 1885.

At his home in National, on Wednesday, August 5th, 1885, occurred the death of William A. Linder; aged 57 years, 4 months and 14 days. Mr. Linder was born in Greene County, Illinois, March 22nd, 1828, but afterwards removed to Jo Davies' County, Ill., where he resided until 1849, in which year he removed to Iowa, settling at National, this county, where he has since continued to reside with the exception of a few years, from 1864 - 69, when he was in Wisconsin.

For a long time past he has been afflicted, but for the past year has been gradually failing, until death ended his suffering on Wednesday last. He leaves a wife and 7 children to mourn his loss.

Mr. Linder was a member of the Christian church, with which he united some ten years ago, and has always lived an honorable and upright life, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him.

The funeral occurred on Thursday, August 6th, Rev. L. U. McKee, of Elkader, officiating.
