Elkader Register, 30 July 1885. Garnavillo column.
On Saturday occurred the funeral of Mrs. Schulte, of Clayton township. She was in her 84th year. Her remains were followed to the grave by one of the largest processions ever witnessed in this town. No less than 46 teams were in the procession. Rev. Sommerlad preached the funeral sermon.
