Elkader Register, 06 May 1885.

At the home of her parents in Elkader, on Thursday, April 30th, 1885, occurred the death of Katie Matilda, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Wilke; aged three years, four months and fifteen days. Katie was a bright little girl, and her loss is a sad blow to her parents. Only a week before Mr. and Mrs. Wilke had been called upon to mourn for the departure of a loved one, and now comes this last sorrow. It is almost more than they can bear. The funeral occurred on Friday last, and was quite largely attended. Rev. F. W. Seifert officiated.
