Elkader Register, 15 April 1885.

The death of of Mrs. George Renkert, Jr., occurred at the family residence near Volga City on Sunday, April 12th, 1885, after a short sickness. Mrs. Renkert was a daughter of Ed Meisner, of Boardman township, and was twenty-eight years of age. She leaves a husband and two children, one little babe two weeks old, to mourn her loss, besides a large circle of friends. The funeral occurred on Tuesday, her remains being laid away in the cemetery at Elkader.

These families have been sorely afflicted within the past few months. It was only a short time since that Mrs. John Ehrhardt, a sister of Mrs. Renkert, Sr., died, and now two others have followed her to that home beyond the grave. They will have the sympathy of all in their affliction.
