Elkader Register, 10 Dec. 1884. From the Volga News, undated.
DIED - Euphamia, the fourth daughter of the Rev. Daniel Todd, died at the home of her parents in Highland township, on the morning of Nov. 7th. While attending school in Decorah, she was attacked by typhus fever, and that fell destroyer did its work in ten days. Effie, as she was familiarly called, possessed pleasing manners, a clear and active mind, and was looking eagerly forward to a career of usefulness as a teacher. This rare young girl has left her home for time and entered the Heavenly mansions for eternity. While the members of the family who remain would not recall her, they mourn because they will see her face no more.
The funeral services were conducted by Mr. William Lewis, and were largely attended. - Volga News.
