Elkader Register, 12 Nov. 1884.

From the Brush Creek News, we glean the following:

Died - At the residence of Mr. David Lowe, near Volga City, in Clayton County, Iowa, Lavina Dempster, aged 32 years and 3 mos. The deceased was born in Wayne County, Michigan, August 1st, 1852, and died on Oct. 30, 1884. The funeral was held at the church in Volga City, conducted by elder Whitford, and the remains brought to the Taylorville cemetery and laid by the side of her father and brother. She had been sick about two years with consumption.
