Elkader Register, 12 Nov. 1884.

On Sunday evening last, at the residence of Err. Henry Ellsworth, in Poney Hollow, occurred the death of Mrs. Sarah Adams, aged nearly 85 years.

Deceased was a sufferer for many long years, and the call of death was welcomed as a glad rescue from the pain she has so long suffered.

Mrs. Adams was among the earliest settlers of Clayton County, and had a host of friends who will regret to learn of her death. The funeral occurred on Tuesday at 10 o'clock. May she rest in peace.
