Elkader Register, 17 Sept. 1884.

The family of John Palmer are indeed afflicted, about two weeks ago they followed a loved daughter to her last resting place. Now another daughter, Mrs. Soloman Peterman, of Volga City, is called home from the trials of life. The funeral took place at Volga City yesterday, but her remains were laid beside her friends in the Elkader cemetery. The heart broken husband with his infant daughter, and the Palmer family have the heart-felt sympathy of all in their hour of trial. But alas, what poor consolation.
