Elkader Register, 23 July 1884.

A correspondent writing from Turkey River, to the Dubuque Herald, under date of Thursday last, says: The body of Campbell, the young man that was drowned by falling off the steamer Mountain Belle last Sunday four miles north of Cassville, was found this morning one mile south of Cassville. His folks lived at Guttenberg.

(Note: WPA records and an IGPP gravestone photo indicate, L. J. Campbell, 1861 - 1884, buried in Goshen cemetery.)
