Elkader Register, Fri., 28 Mar. 1884.

Mary Stranahan, aged 16 years, 7 months and 7 days, died at her home near Steamboat Mound, March 20th, and was buried the following Sabbath in the Volga City cemetery, Rev. D. Jewell preached the funeral sermon at the Paddleford school house. She leaves a father, step-mother, sister and other dear friends to mourn her loss, who will have the sympathy of all who know them.
