Elkader Register, Fri., 01 Feb. 1884. Elkport column.

Mrs. William Long died on Saturday night, the 26th, very suddenly. She had been in her usual health during the day, performing her work in the house, but towards evening complained of a pain in her head. She declined having medical aid summoned as she did not seem to think the trouble was of any serious nature. During the night her husband was awakened by her heavy breathing, and shortly afterwards she expired. She was buried on Tuesday, and the esteem she commanded was shown by the large number attending the funeral.
