William Blake.

We take the following notice of the departure of Mr. Blake from this vale of tears, from the Dubuque Telegraph. Mr. Blake had many friends in the county, who will grieve to learn of his death:

News has reached this city of the death, on Monday, of old age, at his farm in Milville township, Clayton county, of Mr. Wiliam Blake. Mr. Blake was born in Ireland, February 1, 1807, and while yet a boy came to this country and settled in Boston. Here he engaged in the grocery business, at which he amassed a competency, and about twenty-five years ago removed to Dubuque county where he bought and settled upon a farm in Liberty township. This farm he sold some ten years later, and then bought and removed to the farm in Clayton county on which he died. Mr. Blake was well known throughout the county. He was an educated, refined honorable gentleman, and highly esteemed by his friends and acquaintances. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss. The deceased was a true man in all respects; he left his children the benefit of a good example and the legacy of an untarnished name, and his memory will be revered long after his mortal remains shall have crumbled into dust.
