Elkader Register, Thur., 02 Sept. 1880.

DIED - At the home of his parents in Elkport, August 28th, 1880, of diphtheria, William, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Beck. Aged 9 years. William was taken sick Thursday evening, and died Saturday afternoon. He was a very agreeable, pleasant and good boy, beloved and respected by all who knew him. The afflicted family has the sympathy of all. The funeral occurred Sunday, Rev. Dornself officiating.
