Elkader Register, Thur., 19 Aug. 1880.
Last Sunday afternoon a sad and painful tragedy was enacted on the farm of Henry Braun, of Sperry township, in which his son William, aged 7 years, was killed by a bull. The boy had been down to the pasture to let the animal out to water, and on returning was attacked by the bull and gored and mangled in a frightful manner, receiving wounds which caused his almost instant death. The only witness to the scene was a younger brother, aged about 5 years, who was unable to do anything to aid his brother. The animal was the same one that so badly used up Patrick Fitzpatrick on the 8th inst.
