BAKER, BACKER, RUSSELL

Elkader Register, Thur., 03 June 1880.

DIED - At his residence in Elkader, on Thursday, May 27th, of paralysis, George Becker*, in the 76th year of his age.

Mr. Becker was born in Woerth, Germany, in 1804, and resided in that place until about 1834, when he removed to the West Indies remaining there until 1840, when he came to the United States, stopping at New Orleans, Charleston and other southern cities until 1847 when he came to Clayton county, and resided here until the time of his death. He leaves a wife and two grown children, one the wife of Geo. Russell and a son in Nebraska. They have the sympathy of all in their affliction. The funeral occurred on Friday and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives.
