Elkader Register, Thur., 22 Apr. 1880.

DIED - At his residence in Sperry township near Volga City, on Saturday, April 17th, 1880, of tumor in the side, Edward Stacy, aged 79 years and 8 months.

Mr. Stacy was born in Ireland, in 1801, ad immigrated to this country when quite young, and for the past 24 years has been a resident of Sperry township. He was universally respected by all, was honest in all his dealings, a kind husband, a loving father and a good neighbor. By his death he leaves a wife and six children, Mrs. David Livingood of this place, being one daughter. The family have the sympathy of all in their affliction. The remains were buried in the cemetery on the east side, Sunday afternoon, and were followed to their final resting place by a large number of relatives and friends.
