Elkader Register, Thur., 19 Feb. 1880.

DIED - At his home in Highland township, on Wednesday, Feb. 11th, 1880, of lung fever, Joseph McGinnis, aged 29 years.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGinnis of this township. Born in Pennsylvania in 1851, he came with his parents to Iowa when but six years of age, and for about twenty years resided in Boardman township. Four years ago he was married and for some time has resided in Highland township. He leaves a wife and a little child who have the sympathy of the community in their affliction. He was buried in the Catholic cemetery at this place, on Friday, a large number of relatives and friends following the remains to their last resting place.
