DIED. Near Strawberry Point, Jan. 16, 1880, Mrs. Eliza Brown, age 56 years.
Mrs. Brown was born in Baliyelabber, Ireland, in 1824. Her father was Mr. John Bouden, an honored member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of that place. She was married to Rev. John Brown, A.M., and a few years ago with her husband and family came to America and settled near Strawberry Point, where she has resided most of the time since.
A few weeks ago she was attacked with a disease of the brain but she rallied and it was thought she would recover. On last Wednesday she was taken worse and on Friday she sank peacefully away in death.
The funeral services were held the following day at the Baptist church in this place, Elder Kidder officiating, assisted by Rev. E. Ketchum. Mr. Kidder chose for his text, Isa. LVII: 1, 2: "The righteous perisheth and no man taketh it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace; They shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness."
Mrs. Brown was an intelligent, inoffensive and amiable lady, and a true Christian. Her loss will be felt deeply by the afflicted family.
