Elkader Register, Thur., 19 May 1898.

After a lingering illness from lung trouble originating from lagrippe, at about 3:30 Tuesday afternoon May 17th, 1898, Mrs. Edward Klotzbach passed away to the great beyond. Theresa Gleisner was born Aug. 21st, 1870, and was united in marriage with Edward Klotzbach in September 1895, when they came to Elkader to reside. With all her suffering she has been patient and at the last was reconciled to go. She did not mind herself but thought only of the bereaved husband who had so tenderly devoted himself to her care during her long illness and of her little son. We wonder at the strange ways of Providence yet we can only bow our heads and say "Thy will be done." Besides the husband and little boy of 13 months, five sisters and three brothers mourn for the departed. We extend our sympathy. The remains were taken to Ossian, Ia., this morning where the funeral services were held.
