From the Wed., 20 Dec. 1899 issue of the “Guttenberg Press,” Obituary section, page 1, column 4:

PETER PAUL WALBER.

On December 16, 1899, occurred the death of Peter Walber. The subject of this sketch was born in May, 1828, in Prussia Germany, and came to Cincinnati when a young man. While a resident of that city he married a sister of our townsmen Nick and John Friedlein, and later moved to Jefferson township where he and his wife lived on a farm near Millville. His wife died in 1893. He then moved to Guttenberg where after a few years residence he married Mrs. Biedenbach, who died Aug. 10, 1899 [sic]. Mr. Walber was a man who had the respect of all who knew him, and always had a good word for everybody, though of a retiring disposition. The funeral took place from his late home with interment in the city cemetery. May he rest in peace.
