Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Apr. 1898.
The subject of this sketch, a daughter of Peter Larson, of Highland twp., died at her home on Thursday, April 14th, 1898. She was born in Highland Sept. 22, 1882. About ten months ago she was attacked by an illness which developed in consumption. Every care was given her and last fall her father accompanied her to Denver, Col., in hopes that a change might arrest the disease, but all in vain.
Three weeks ago Mr. Larson went after her and since that time she has rapidly failed until the end came. She was a bright and gifted young lady and as the time came that she must depart from earthly friends to join those in the brighter realms she said she was prepared - she had made her peace with God, and leaned upon the Saviour. She leaves a sorrowing father, four brothers and one sister to mourn her untimely demise. Her mother went before her in 1894.
The funeral was held Monday at the Gunder church, Rev. Mr. Gerstade officiating, and there was hardly a dry eye in the large congregation when he commended the virtues of the dear one who had departed. Our sympathy goes out to our friend and his family.
