Elkader Register, Fri., 11 Mar. 1898. Volga column.

Monday occurred the death of Michael Hurley at his home in Highland township. The funeral took place at Elkader Tuesday.

Same paper, date, in the local column, adds the following information:

Born 1834 in county Galway, Ireland.
Came to the U.S. in 1852, settling in Clayton County 1855.
Leaves a wife and one son, and four brothers, John, Barney, Martin and Patrick.
