Fred F. Geske, aged about seventy, one of our oldest citizens, died Saturday after an illness of several months.

Fred F. Geske was born Dec. 26, 1822, at Tempelbury, Prussia. He came to this country in 1850 and settled in Minnesota where he worked bridging for the R.R. Co. Settling in McGregor in 1862, still engaged for the C.M. & St. P. R.R. he spent the years during war in the south at work for above Co. Later engaged in business in McGregor where he has since resided.
He leaves a wife, seven boys and six girls to survive him. Mr. Geske has not been well for the past year, and was taken seriously ill last December. He died Friday Feb. 25th, and [was] buried Sunday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Marshall officiating. Funeral from family residence, burial in Oakland cemetery.
